A Newly Refreshed 2024 GMC Sierra HD is On The Way
The 2024 GMC Sierra HD is set to arrive with an all-new refresh. The heavy-duty pickup truck will feature new styling and upgrades to its powertrain. There will also be an all-new Denali Ultimate trim. Lately, GMC has been focused on its EV lineup. Electric vehicles like the GMC Hummer EV have started to lead the way for the automaker’s EV future. Despite this focus, the automaker has not taken any attention away from its combustion engine lineup. Combustion engine vehicles like the GMC Yukon and GMC Canyon have all received updates. GMC is also working on new vehicles. Although prioritizing electric and gas vehicles is no easy feat, GMC has continued offering highly capable and versatile vehicles. Knowing that, we’ll take a look at the new 2024 GMC Sierra HD and see what consumers can expect.
2024 GMC Sierra HD Receives Production Date
The 2024 GMC Sierra HD is on its way with an all-new refresh. This refresh will provide the heavy-duty pickup truck with new styling and several updates. Regarding styling, the Sierra HD will arrive with an updated front fascia. It will receive a new bumper, grille, and six new exterior colors. Inside the 2024 Sierra HD, owners will note an updated interior cabin. Trims like the SLE and SLT will receive a modern touch-up, while others like the AT and Denali will feature a more premium design.
Another 2024 GMC Sierra HD update is that the Denali Ultimate will join its list of powerful trims. The Denali Ultimate trim features a Vader chrome exterior with 20-inch Ultra-bright wheels. It also features a unique Alpine Umber interior upholstery. As for the Sierra HD’s powertrain, there’s the choice of either a naturally aspirated 6.6L V8 engine or a 6.6L V8 turbo diesel Duramax. The naturally aspirated V8 delivers 401 horsepower and 464 lb-ft of torque, while the turbodiesel offers 470 horsepower and 975 lb-ft of torque. GMC improved the turbodiesel giving it an additional 25 horsepower and 65 lb-ft of torque. Both engines pair with a 10-speed automatic transmission that replaces the previous 6-speed.
GMC has confirmed that the newly refreshed GMC Sierra HD production will begin in February 2023. Although pricing has yet to be released, more details will be disclosed as production nears. So far, it’s looking like the 2024 GMC Sierra HD will arrive with greater capability and versatility. The heavy-duty truck will also retain its powerful towing ability offering up to 36,000 pounds with the 3500 HD.
