Buick and Reese Witherspoon Come Together For New EV AD

September 23rd, 2022 by

Star-studded actress Reese Witherspoon recently presented the world’s largest mobile mood ring. Buick’s 90-second campaign featured the Cruel Intentions actress and publicized the all-new Buick Wildcat Concept EV.

The Buick campaign displays the new electric concept in different scenarios. For example, the AD begins with a cultured woman ten and two in the driver’s seat. Then, the Wildcat concept valet parks itself. Afterward, the electric vehicle self-drives in “zen-mode,” oozing a calm woodland setting on the windshield for a few moments of peace. Moreover, the concept vehicle seems to be an oversized mood ring as it transforms its exterior to whatever color enthusiasts choose.

Before the commercial ends, Witherspoon states, “At Buick we see a future that’s even better because it’s built around you. Come dream with us.”

Buick and Hello Sunshine’s partnership has developed for some time now. Witherspoon is the owner of Hello Sunshine, a media company designed to place women at the center of every story it tells, as it did beautifully with the Buick Wildcat Concept. Moreover, the automaker features Reese’s Book Club as an in-vehicle app for select models.

“With the largest percentage share of female buyers in the auto industry, we know that more and more women are making vehicle-buying decisions and we’re thinking creatively about how to offer experiences tailored to them.”

-Buick GMC Vice President of Marketing, Molly Peck

“Those are the automakers where women contribute to the majority of their known-gender sales. They have a product that appeals to women and they market directly to all women.”

-Chief Diversity Offficer for IHS Markit, now S&P Global, Marc Bland

General Motors (GM) revealed the Wildcat EV concept in June 2022, promising to go completely electric by 2030. Additionally, GM invested $35 billion in electric vehicles and autonomous technologies for 2025. Furthermore, the American automaker will deliver a zero-emissions lineup by 2035 and a carbon-neutral goal of 2040.

The exquisite evolution doesn’t stop at electrification goals for Buick, and the Wildcat EV Concept bears the automaker’s new emblem. Buick’s ICE (internal combustible engine) vehicles will also foster the new logo and bring new products to market over the next 18 months.

The Wildcat EV concept is an essential component of what to anticipate from future creations from the automaker in the forthcoming years, whether gas or electric.

“What this whole concept car does, is gives us a visual representation of how the brand is actually shifting as we evolve into electric vehicles. There’s no better marketing than having a beautiful car out on the road. This concept is a start.”

-Buick Marketing Manager, Rob Peterson

The first Buick EV to hit the streets will be an SUV in 2024. After the first EV launches, all prospective Buick EVs will become prominent under the surname Electra and accompanied by a number. The luxury automaker recently revived the Electra name, which Buick abandoned in 1990.

“We’ve worked closely over the past year on exciting new collaborations, including the launch of the RBC app in Buick vehicles, which was a huge success. We can’t wait to create more moments that empower and celebrate women together through our work.”

-Hello Sunshine’s Head of Brand Partnerships, Zoe Fairburn
