GMC Expects to Spearhead Global Expansion with Updated 2025 Yukon
General Motors’ premium truck and SUV brand, GMC, is all set to unveil an updated version of its full-size Yukon SUV later this year, with the vehicle expected to hit dealerships in 2025. A teaser photo released by the company hints at a new headlight design that is taller and narrower than the current model, along with a revised fascia and grille. The teaser image showcases the off-road-ready AT4 grade, added in 2021 when the Yukon was last redesigned.

The refreshed Yukon is expected to mirror changes made to its related Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban twins for the 2025 model year. The updated version will likely feature a much larger infotainment screen, new electronic driver-assist features, and the latest version of General Motors’ Super Cruise automated driving system. The Yukon is expected to receive more power from the available turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-6 diesel, bringing it in line with the Chevy’s 305-horsepower diesel engine.
The current model of the Yukon, a full-size SUV by General Motors, boasts two engine options – a 5.3-liter V-8 engine that generates 355 horsepower and a 6.2-liter V-8 engine that packs a punch of 420 horsepower. These engines are predicted to continue in the upcoming Yukon version, which is expected to follow the powertrain lineup of its Chevy counterparts. The diesel engine in the new Yukon is speculated to produce 305 horsepower, an upgrade from the current Yukon’s 277 horsepower and a comparable power output to the latest Chevy models.
