General Motors Reapplies For GMC Granite Trademark

GM must have turned off the shuffle and kept Aaliyah’s “Try Again” on replay, and we are loving the music. In late September (2022), serialized under the number 97614910, the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) received the patent for General Motor’s Granite application. Moreover, the Goods and Services description reads, “Motor land vehicles, namely, on-road passenger automobiles.”

Here’s where ‘dusting off and trying again’ falls into place for the American automaker. The Granite name existed in USPTO halls several times. However, the fifth may be a magic number for General Motors. Further, the automaker attempted the bulldozing name in April 2019, May 2015, November 2010, and November 2009.

Patience is a virtue, and the General automaker is tenacious, with thirteen years of persistence with the Granite name. However, it’s somewhat apparent that GM has nothing but the best intentions for the title. One possibility is that the rocky name may serve in tandem with a new subcompact crossover underway. Furthermore, the future subcompact crossover will trail behind the GMC Terrain in the lineup.

In 2010, General Motors unveiled the Granite concept. The premiere demonstrated a futuristic four-seater that was lightyears ahead of its time. Additionally, the General of automaking unleashed a Granite rendering photo supported by the GM’s VSS-F platform. Furthermore, the crossover’s image demonstrated inspiration from the Chevy Trailblazer and

Buick Encore GX

GM may incorporate other possibilities for the possible Granite with a new off-road capable crossover or perhaps even a forthcoming full-size SUV. Yet, no matter what the American automaker releases, our hearts and minds are open to the potential of the GMC Granite.

However, in other trademark news, GM newly trademarked Coretec. In addition, the Coretec name would function as a title for in-vehicle upholstery. Next, the StowFlex name will potentially act as a pickup truck tailgate design. Furthermore, the Chevy Cavalier implies that General Motors may have its sights on a small vehicle for the US.
