The 2024 Buick Encore GX, Said New Number Who This?
Buick is in the midst of an evolution, and the cycle has begun with the highly appreciated Encore GX. The 2024 Buick Encore GX welcomes many improvements, starting with the subcompact’s reimagined front end and that dashing new logo.
A Fresh Face
For the 2024 model year, the Encore GX acted as the first US model to premiere the American automakers refreshed emblem. Initially, the logo stopped the world when it debuted on the Buick Wildcat concept. While the concept was a fun exercise to get the EV blood flowing, the Encore GX benefited from the Wildcat’s influence.
Buick enthusiasts may have seen spy photos of the camouflage Encore GX last December (2022), but the SUV is more charming than we anticipated. Could the subcompact SUV get any more premium? The answer is absolute, offering slim LED accents conspicuously intertwined between the headlights. Additionally, a new trapezoidal grille rests lower than the previous models.
The Buick Encore GX Trims
Not only does the Encore GX welcome a refreshed style, but there’s also more than one trim. The Preferred remains the base trim, but the all-new Avenir trim is the most luxurious of them all. However, the Sport Touring (ST) used to be a stand-alone appearance package but is now nestled between the Preferred and the Avenir.
Leave it to the Encore GX Avenir trim to offer unique HVAC controls compared to its trim brethren. Exclusive to the Avenir is the black and beige interior color scheme, and there are also leather seats with “Avenir” embroidered on the headrests. Furthermore, there’s a heated steering wheel and power-adjustable front seats.
The ST is the athletic trim of the bunch. For instance, the Sport trim offers glossy black wheels and black lower molding, while the Avenir hosts bright rims and molding that resembles its body color. Enthusiasts can take the Buick Encore GX ST takes its distinctiveness up a notch with the available Black Roof package. The ST harbors a flat-bottomed steering wheel and “ST” stitching across the headrests.
A New Infotainment Screen
Fans will fall in love with the Buick Encore GX’s refreshed dashboard, an enormous sheet of glass mounted on top. The single subcompact panel harbors two large displays plus 8.0 inches dedicated to the gauge cluster and 11.0 inches for the infotainment screen. The Encore GX includes standard wireless Apple CarPlat and Android Auto. Furthermore, the cabin offers wireless charging with a larger pad than its predecessor.
Buick says the refreshed Encore GX will begin production in March (2023) and go on sale in time for Spring. The Preferred trim will start at $26,895* (excluding taxes and destination fees), which is $300 less than the 2023 Buick Encore GX. Further, the ST and Avenir will start at $28,095* and $33,195*.
